John Paul College is an independent, coeducational school
situated on a beautiful campus at Daisy Hill, 25 km from the
centre of Brisbane, Queensland. The campus comprises a child
care centre (6 weeks-5 years), a Kindergarten (3-5 years), a
primary school (Prep-Year 6) and senior school (Years 7-12). The
school was established in 1982 and maintains a strong record of
excellence in our academic, sporting and cultural programmes.
The college offers both the IB Primary Years Programme
(authorised in 2009) and the IB Diploma Programme
(authorised in 2007). Both programmes continue to grow and
develop as each cohort increases. The school promotes
cultural diversity with many nationalities represented among
the student population.
John Paul College’s mission statement reflects a learning

In the IB Diploma Programme, John Paul College offers
language and literature in English in group 1, while in group 2
in language B, German and Chinese are offered. In addition,

at an ab initio level Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish and German
are offered. In group 3, students currently undertake
economics, psychology, business and management and
history. In group 4, physics, chemistry and biology are offered.
Mathematic studies, mathematics SL and high level
mathematics in group 5 are offered as well as visual arts in
group 6. As a growing school, it is anticipated that other
subjects will be offered based on the student’s best interests
and talents. Qualified and experienced teachers, together with
an increase in students’ understanding of internationalism,
have encouraged students to become ‘critical, compassionate
thinkers and informed participants’. (IB Mission Statement)
Through both IB programmes, there are many opportunities
for our students to increase their awareness of people and
communities requiring help. A variety of community service
programmes and organisations support them in this quest.
Every student from Years 4-12 uses a personal notebook
computer that is supported by a campus-wide wireless
internet connection. Facilities include a gymnasium and
multi-functional hall, a heated pool, courts, playing fields and
a well-established performing arts centre.
John Paul College believes that we are a ‘community on a
