Escaan International School, founded in 1994, is an
independent, private school beautifully situated in hills above
the lovely old town of Sitges. It provides a quiet environment
perfectly suited to learning with excellent travel links to the
Catalan capital of Barcelona, only 35 km away.
Although a relatively small school, Escaan International
School offers education from the age of 2 to 18. The
curriculum, which takes pupils from infant class to IB
Diploma Programme, is conducted in English, with Spanish
and Catalan also being taught and other languages such as
French, German and Chinese available as options. Escaan
International School is a witness of a rise of popularity of the
IB Diploma Programme in Spain during the past decade.
Escaan’s students come from many different countries and
have the opportunity to share their cultures while learning.
Escaan’s vibrant international community helps to create a
stimulating educational surrounding: all teachers come from
English speaking countries while the students’ community
consists of 60% Spanish, 18% British, 8% Dutch and 14% of
students of different nationalities.
