The British International School (BIS), Phuket, is an English
medium, coeducational, day and boarding school that was
established in 1996 in the heart of Phuket. Its purpose-built 39
acre campus includes high quality boarding accommodation
and provides world-class facilities that enable students to
excel in sports as well as in their studies. The student
population consists of some 800 students with over 37
different nationalities represented.
BIS Phuket provides a pre-school, primary and secondary
school education of the highest international standard.
External examinations are offered in the IB Diploma
Programme, IGCSE, and Cambridge ESOL.
Academic results are amongst the best in the South East
Asian region and BIS Phuket graduates regularly move on to
top universities all around the world. In 2010 and 2011 BIS
Phuket students received ‘Top in World’ and ‘Top in Thailand’

as the ‘Best Service Provider in International Education’ in
Thailand.
The school is jointly accredited by the Council of
International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association
of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). It is also a member of the
International Schools Association of Thailand (ISAT), the
Federation of British International Schools in South and East
Asia (FOBISSEA) and the Boarding Schools Association of the
United Kingdom (BSA).
The year 2011 has seen BIS Phuket celebrate 15 years of
excellence in producing ‘Leaders for Tomorrow’.
BIS also run English holiday camps and sports and
adventure camps every July and has the BIS ‘Flying Fish’ Swim
Team with a professional coach.
