ISS International School was founded in 1981 to serve the<br />

expatriate community in Singapore. Our focus is to nurture<br />

every child to develop his or her maximum potential. ISS also<br />

places strong emphasis on holistic learning, focusing on every<br />

Our Academic Program<br />

• ISS is an authorized <strong>IB</strong> <strong>World</strong> School offering PYP<br />

(preschool-grade 5), MYP (grade 6-10) and DP (grade 11-<br />

12). Our Western Association of Schools and Colleges<br />

(WASC) accreditation enables us to offer a High School<br />

Diploma to our <strong>IB</strong> diploma and <strong>IB</strong> certificate graduates.<br />

• ISS offers pre-<strong>IB</strong> diploma skills and <strong>IB</strong> diploma subject<br />

preparation courses during the summer.<br />

• ISS offers mid-<strong>IB</strong> diploma summer programme to support<br />

students in work completion before grade 12.<br />

• Academic Year – August to June (Semester 1: Mid-August<br />

to Mid-December, Semester 2: Mid-January to early June).<br />

Faculty<br />

• Teachers from 18 different countries.<br />

• Predominantly trained in United States, Britain, Canada,<br />

New Zealand, and Australia. Many faculty members are<br />

moderators, examiners and workshop leaders for the <strong>IB</strong><br />

organization and some are CIS team members.<br />

Student Information<br />

• Students from over 50 countries.<br />

• Class sizes – elementary school: 15-22 students, middle<br />

school: 20-24 students, high school: 15-20 students.<br />

Admissions<br />

• Our admissions staff are available year round to meet with<br />

parents and/or students regarding admissions for all three<br />

schools.<br />

• Applications are accepted year round, subject to places<br />

being available.<br />

• As part of the admissions procedure, we would like to review<br />

the applicant’s school reports/transcripts for the past three<br />

years, and the ‘school transfer form’ from the previous<br />

school about the applicant’s aptitude and attitude.<br />

• Students must pass our English language proficiency test<br />

to be eligible for admission.
