Commitment to the promotion of international
understanding and a superior education
Chengdu Meishi International School (CMIS) is financially
supported and was established by the Chengdu Meishi
Culture Co Ltd, an affiliate of the Shenzhen Meishi Group. In
2002, CMIS was approved by the Sichuan Education
Department, becoming only one of the few schools in all of
China that can enrol both national and international
students. It is both a grade1–grade12 boarding school and day
school. The campus of the school is absolutely beautiful and
has been equipped with first class facilities. Currently, there
are over 2400 students in the school. Meishi is the first
international school with a large campus in southwest China.
Since the school was established, it has made dazzling
achievements in academic excellence by stressing quality
education, small class size to enhance students’ learning and
by the use of current strategies by all the instructors. The
school philosophy includes cultural diversity, the integration
of Chinese and western methodologies, and inquiry based
education. The school’s objective is admitting students from
around the world and educating them to think globally.
CMIS’s International Baccalaureate (IB) World School status
and the American North Central Association (NCA)
accreditation attests to Meishi’s genuine standing as an
international school that has the only authorized IB Diploma
Programme in southwest China.
Public praise of Meishi
The school is committed to creating a system of values that
are innovative, practical, and logical, which has resulted in
awards from the Chengdu Education Department: ‘Chengdu
Environmentally Friendly School and Model School.’ By
conducting the novel ‘sunshine education project’ based on
extracurricular activities, our students are encouraged to be
successful, which aids in developing a healthy personality.
Outstanding achievements
In the last four years, Meishi students have taken the high
school and college entrance exams; 50% of the students went
on to national premier universities and 50% were selected by
other universities, which earned Meishi ‘rank in the top listing
as a premier secondary school in Sichuan Province’. Meishi
students have had best scores on the college entrance exams
in two out of the past four years.
One of our students was admitted to the world-class
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Meishi has achieved a great deal since the establishment of
the school nine years ago. The school is highly respected by
our parents and the community. We are now one of the
‘Outstanding Private Schools’ in China and we will continue to
adhere to the policies that have contributed to our academic
excellence.
