2.4 Die afwagtingsbeginsel
LitNet Akademies Jaargang 10 (1), Maart 2013
Cooperrider e.a. (2008:9) beskryf die beginsel soos volg:
The most important resource for generating constructive organizational change or
improvement is collective imagination and discourse about the future. One of the
basic theorems of the anticipatory view of organizational life is that the image of
the future guides what might be called the current behavior of any organism or
organization. Much like a movie projected on a screen, human systems are
forever projecting ahead of themselves a horizon of expectation that brings the
future powerfully into the present as a mobilizing agent.
onsself visualiseer:
The decisions we make and the actions we take will be affected by images we
hold. These decisions and actions create our future. The more powerful the
image, the more it will drive our decisions, and the more likely it will come to
pass.
All this speaks to the power of our collective images in creating reality. If we
want a certain outcome, or desire change in an area of our lives, one of the most
powerful things we can do is create a collective, inspiring, positive image of what
we want. This will be much more effective than, say, making a list of the future
items or changes we desire in our lives.
My omgang met hom en sy skilderye laat my
beter voel oor myself en skep vir my ’n positiewe ruimte waarin ek vreugde ervaar. Daar is
(Kelm 2008:61): “We are more creative and better at problem solving, solution generation,
and decision making.”
positivistiese beginsel in te lui: “When we seek to discover the best in others, we somehow
bring out the best in ourselves.” Hierdie woorde belig die positiewe houding waarmee ek die
waardering van Caravaggio onderneem het.
