FOR A POSSIBLE DATABASE
REGISTRATION FILE FOR PROSOCIAL ACTION no. 11
1. Name of actor or student: Nuria P.
2. Background: Giving blood can save lives.
3. Type: Giving or sharing, empathy.
4. Description of the action: I went to a mobile blood donation site in my town.
5. Variables for the actor: At the time I performed the prosocial action my mood was normal. I did it
anonymously and with a cost of 1.
6. Variables for the recipient: The recipient will be a total stranger whose characteristics I cannot
assess.
7. Variables of the action: It was a single session lasting around 20 minutes.
8. Consequences for the recipient: I do not know the consequences for the recipient but I know that it
can save a life or help someone get over an illness.
9. Consequences in the environment: The consequences will clearly be positive for both the recipient
and for the persons around him/her and who love him/her. The atmosphere after overcoming a physical
difficulty will be more relaxed and pleasant.
10. Consequences for the actor: I went from a normal state of mind to being happy. I thought that
sometimes it can be very easy to fulfil a totally valuable objective.
11. Observations: Sometimes we stop performing prosocial behaviours without knowing why. We are
lacking in initiative even though we may have good intentions. I had often thought about donating
blood but I never did it until I had to fill out a table with possible prosical actions for the practices in my
university degree.
REGISTRATION FILE FOR PROSOCIAL ACTION no. 12
1. Name of actor or student: Nuria P R.
2. Background: I knew I could teach someone something useful.
3. Type: Giving or sharing, verbal help, empathy, positive confirmation of someone else.
4. Description of the action: I taught my mother how to send message on her mobile phone.
5. Variables for the actor: I was feeling low. I would rate the cost of the action at 2.
6. Variables for the recipient: My mother is an intelligent person who never had the chance to study.
She is a sociable person, middle-aged, lively with a strong character, who thought she wouldn’t be able
to handle the new technologies.
7. Variables of the action: I spent the entire afternoon showing her how to send messages, around five
hours during which I repeated the action numerous times.
8. Consequences for the recipient: During the explanation, she complained that it was very difficult,
and sometimes she got frustrated but she never gave up. When she finally managed to do it, she was
very pleased.
9. Consequences in the environment: During the explanation my mother, father and I were present.
We laughed together a lot and were very entertained and pleased to be together.
10. Consequences for the actor: I went from having low spirits to being very happy. I was very patient
yet I really wanted my mother to manage to send message by mobile phone. I wanted to show her she
was capable of doing this and many other things if she was taught well and applied herself a bit.
11. Observations: If we all shared what we knew and let ourselves be taught, the consequences would
be extremely enriching.
REGISTRATION FILE FOR PROSOCIAL ACTION no. 17
1. Name of actor or student: Nuria P R.
2. Background: My friend was suffering and did not want to lose a friend.
3. Type: Verbal help, verbal consolation, in-depth listening, empathy.
4. Description of the action: My friend felt let down by a friend of hers, and I suggested she talk to
him.
5. Variables for the actor: I was in a very good mood, although as I listened to my friend I felt sadder.
I would value the cost at 1.
6. Variables for the recipient: She is a friend, intelligent, highly sociable, kind, middle class, fairly
attractive.
7. Variables of the action: I was with her talking for two hours the first day. We did the same the next
day and two other days, lasting two to five hours, depending on the day.
8. Consequences for the recipient: After talking with him she felt much better, as if she had unloaded
