L’alinéa a) du paragraphe 5 de l’article4 de la Convention est remplacé parle texte suivant:“a) A moins que la nature et la valeurdes marchandises n’aient été déclaréespar le chargeur avant leur embarquementet que cette déclaration ait étéinsérée dans le connaissement, le transporteur,comme le navire, ne seront enaucun cas responsables des pertes oudommages des marchandises ou concernantcelles-ci pour une somme supérieureà 666,67 unités de compte par colis ouunité, ou 2 unités de compte par kilogrammede poids brut des marchandisesperdues ou endommagées, la limite laplus élevée étant applicable.”2. L’alinéa d) du paragraphe 5 de l’article4 de la Convention est remplacé parle texte suivant:“d) L’unité de compte mentionnéedans le présent article est le Droit de Ti-Protocol amending theInternational Convention for theunification ofcertain rules of law relating to Bills ofLading, 25 August 1924,as amended by the Protocol of23 February 1968THE CONTRACTING PARTIES TO THE PRE-SENT PROTOCOL,BEING PARTIES to the International Conventionfor the unification of certainrules of law relating to bills of lading,done at Brussels on 25th August 1924, asamended by the Protocol to amend thatConvention, done at Brussels on 23rdFebruary 1968,HAVE AGREED as follows:Article IFor the purpose of this Protocol, “Convention”means the International Conventionfor the unification of certainrules of law relating to bills of lading andits Protocol of signature, done at Brusselson 25th August 1924, as amended bythe Protocol, done at Brussels on 23rdFebruary, 1968.Article II1. Article 4, paragraph 5, a) of the Conventionis replaced by the following:“a) Unless the nature and value ofsuch goods have been declared by theshipper before shipment and inserted inthe bill of lading, neither the carrier northe ship shall in any event be or becomeliable for any loss or damage to or in connectionwith the goods in an amount exceeding666.67 units of account perpackage or unit or 2 units of account perkilogramme of gross weight of the goodslost or damaged, whichever is the higher.”2.
