3.7 ADJUSTING
A. Stretch-In Installation: Restretch carpet sixty days after Substantial Completion,
as directed by Owner.
3.8 CLEANING AND PROTECTION
A. Comply with CRI 104, Section 15, “Protection of Indoor Installation”.
B. Remove and dispose of debris and unusable scraps daily.
C. Vacuum carpet daily using commercial machine with face-beater element. Remove
spots and replace carpet where spots cannot be removed. Remove any
protruding face yarn using sharp scissors. Knock down tacks at entries to baths
and guest rooms (to protect feet).
D. Maintenance Materials: Deliver specified overrun (if any) and usable scraps of
carpet to Owner's designated storage space, properly packaged (paper
wrapped) and identified. Usable scraps are defined to include roll ends of less
than 9'-0" length, and 3'-0" wide. Dispose of smaller pieces as "construction
waste".
E. Protect carpet against damage from construction operations and placement of
equipment and fixtures during the remainder of construction period. Use protection
methods indicated or recommended in writing by carpet manufacturer.
