1.06 RELATED WORK:
1. Determine vibration isolator sizes and locations.
2. Provide vibration isolation units as scheduled or otherwise specified.
3. Provide installation instructions, drawings and trained field supervision to ensure
proper installation and performance.
A. Housekeeping Pads: Details and design of housekeeping pad reinforcement and
monolithic pad attachment to the structure shall be prepared by the contractor if not
already indicated on the drawings.
B. Supplementary Support Steel: Contractor shall supply supplementary support steel for all
equipment, piping, ductwork, etc., including roof mounted equipment, as required or
specified.
PART 2 – PRODUCTS
2.01 ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURERS:
A. Manufacturer: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide products by the
following:
1. Mason Industries, Inc.
B. Alternate Manufacturer: All vibration isolators described in this Section shall be the
product of a single manufacturer. Mason Industries’ products are the basis of these
specifications; products of other manufacturers are acceptable provided their systems
strictly comply with these specifications and have been reviewed by the Engineer.
Submittals and certification sheets shall be in accordance with Section 1.03.
2.02 PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS:
A. The following product descriptions are listed by a letter, which is used as the identifier in
the Equipment Vibration Isolation Schedule and elsewhere in Part 3 of this Specification.

a. Specification “A”: Double deflection neoprene mountings shall have a
minimum static deflection of 0.35”. All metal surfaces shall be neoprene
covered to avoid corrosion and have friction pads both top and bottom so
they need not be bolted to the floor. Bolt holes shall be provided for these
areas where bolting is required. On equipment such as small vent sets
and close coupled pumps, steel rails shall be used above the mountings
to compensate for the overhang. Mountings shall be type ND or rails type
DNR as manufactured by Mason Industries, Inc.
b. Specification “B”: Spring type isolators shall be free-standing and laterally
stable without any housing and complete with ¼” neoprene-acoustical
friction pads between the baseplate and the support. All mountings shall
have leveling bolts that must be rigidly bolted to the equipment. Spring
diameters shall be no less than 0.8 of the compressed height of the spring
