2.02 CEILING AIR DIFFUSERS:

A. General: Except as otherwise indicated, provide manufacturer’s standard ceiling air
diffusers where shown; of sizes, shapes, capacities and types indicated; constructed of
materials and components as indicated; and as required for complete installation.
B. Performance: Provide ceiling air diffusers that have, as minimum, throw and drop, and
noise criteria ratings for each size device as listed in manufacturer's current data.
C. Ceiling Compatibility: Provide diffusers with border styles that are compatible with adjacent
ceiling systems, and that are specifically manufactured to fit into ceiling module with
accurate fit and adequate support. Refer to general construction drawings and
specifications for types of ceiling systems which will contain each type of ceiling air diffuser.
D. Types: Provide ceiling diffusers of types, capacities, and with accessories and finishes as
listed on air device schedule.
1. All linear slot diffusers shall have air pattern control vanes, capable of 180º air
pattern adjustment, and internally lined plenum boot, except as otherwise indicated
or scheduled.
E. Dampers: Volume dampers shall not be provided at diffuser necks unless otherwise
specifically indicated or scheduled.
2.03 REGISTERS AND GRILLES:
A. General: Except as otherwise indicated, provide manufacturer's standard registers and
grilles where shown; of sizes, shapes, capacities and types indicated; constructed of
materials and components as indicated; and as required for complete installation.
B. Performance: Provide registers and grilles that have, as minimum, throw and drop, and
noise criteria ratings for each size device as listed in manufacturer's current data.
C. Wall/Ceiling/Floor Compatibility: Provide registers and grilles with border styles that are
compatible with adjacent wall/ceiling/floor systems, and that are specifically manufactured
to fit into wall/ceiling/floor construction with accurate fit and adequate support. Refer to
general construction drawings and specifications for types of wall/ceiling/floor construction
which will contain each type of wall/ceiling/floor register and grille.
D. Types: Provide registers and grilles of types, capacities, and with accessories and finishes as
listed on air device schedule.
1. All sidewall-type supply air registers shall be double deflection adjustable blade
type, except as otherwise indicated or scheduled.
2. All sidewall-type return and exhaust registers shall be 35º fixed blade type, except
as otherwise indicated or scheduled.
