HYDRONIC PUMPS
A. This Section includes the furnishing and installation of HVAC pumps and accessories.
Extent of HVAC pump work required by this Section is indicated on drawings and
schedules, and by requirements of this Section.
B. Types of pumps specified in this Section include the following:
1. Vertical In-Line
2. Frame-Mounted End Suction
C. Refer to other Division 23 sections for other work that is not work of this Section.
D. Provide the following electrical work as work of this Section, complying with requirements
of Division 26 sections:
1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE:
1. Control wiring between field-installed controls, indicating devices, and pump
control panels.
a. Control wiring specified as work of Division 23 for Automatic Temperature
Controls is work of that section.
A. Hydraulic Institute Compliance: Design, manufacture and installation of HVAC pumps
shall be in accordance with “Hydraulic Institute Standards.”
B. UL Compliance: Provide HVAC pumps that are listed and labeled by UL and comply with
UL Standard 778 “Motor Operated Water Pumps.”
C. All pump motors shall be NEMA rated and UL listed.
D. Nameplates showing pump manufacturer’s name, model and/or serial number, impeller
size, and motor data shall be clearly visible. If impeller has been trimmed from standard
size, this information shall appear on the nameplate also.
E. Certified performance data including vibration criteria shall be furnished for all custom
and non-cataloged pumps.
