1.01 DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

UNIT HEATERS
A. Extent of terminal unit work is indicated on drawings and schedules, and by requirements
of this Section.
B. Types of terminal units required for project include the following:
1. Unit heaters.
2. Cabinet unit heaters.
C. Refer to other Division 23 sections for piping; ductwork; testing, adjusting and balancing
of terminal units; not work of this Section.
D. Refer to Division 26 section for the following work; not work of this Section.
1. Power supply wiring from power source to power connection on terminal units.
2. Provide the following electrical work as work of this Section, complying with
requirements of Division 26 sections:
a. Control wiring between field-installed controls, indicating devices, and
terminal unit control panels.
i. Control wiring specified as work of Division 23 for Automatic
Temperature Controls is work of that Section.
E. Refer to other Division 23 sections for automatic temperature controls not factory installed,
required in conjunction with terminal units; not work of this Section.
1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE:
A. Manufacturer's Qualifications: Firms regularly engaged in manufacture of terminal units,
of types and sizes required, whose products have been in satisfactory use in similar service
for not less than 5 years.
B. Codes and Standards:
1.03 SUBMITTALS:
1. ASHRAE Compliance: Test coils in accordance with ASHRAE Standard 33,
"Methods of Testing Forced Circulation Air Cooling and Heating Coils."
2. UL Compliance: Provide terminal units with electrical components which have
been listed and labeled by UL.
