Dear Dr. Kurd and Gentlemen:
I respectfully request the
approval j>f__y_our Honorable Board to the ^appropriation of
fwenty-five jthousfnd dollars (&25,OOO^bcO to Highways, Spec"i"ql~Iteni,
"to cover the City of Somerville's contribution
toward~~t~he re-surfacing of Broadway from the Somerville-
Charlestown line to the Somerville-Arlington line at the
intersection of Broadway and'Mystic Valley Parkway. This
work is to be done under Chapter 90. The City of Somerville
contributed 25$ of the cost, the county of Middlesex 25$ and
the Commonwealth of Massachusetts 50$ of the cost.
Work will be done under the supervision of the
Massachusetts Department of Public Works and in view of the
severe winter causing many depressions in the way making it
dangerous for passage of motor vehicles, all parties desire
to have work started on the re-surfacing of Broadway as soon
as possible.
I hope that your Honorable Board will approve early
passage of my appropriation to do this necessary work.
