In connection with the resurfacing^of
Broadway from the Charlestown line iib tK^_Arl3;ngtqn_llnel
the Highway Commissioner shall make provisions to lay out
_§ndj3aye,_the island in the center of Broadway between
Sargent Avenue and Walnut Street for use as a parking area,
thus eliminating the parking problem in J;Ms _v_lcinity.

That all city owned vehicles exclusive
of Police Inspectors 1 vehicles be lettered with the words
"Clty_of Somarville" and with the name of the respective de-
partments, and each department head shall submit eleven
copies of a list itemizing each vehicle in his department.
The lettering shall be done and the lists submitted no later
than May 1, 1948, to the Board of Aldermen, and further, the
president shall appoint a committee, of three aldermen to in-
spect all city owned vehicles on May 1st, 1948, to ascertain
that the provisions of this order have been complied with.
