Dear Dr. Hurd and Gentlemen:
In your deliberation concerning
traffic conditions, I know you will appreciate the fact that
this is a matter of great importance and possibly you will
wish to have a committee of your Honorable Board meet with
the_Chief of_Police, City Engineer, Chief Engineer of the
Fire Department' and the Street Commissioner.
There are certain,locations which would be considered,
as soon as possible, with passage of appropriate
ordinances by your Honorable Board restricting parking on
these ways so as to allow free passage of firo apparatus
at all times*
With respect to parking of motor vehicles in
business and manufacturing districts, I assume that you
will probably want to include in the ordinance a provision
providing for fifteen or twenty minute parking of trucks
to discharge and receive material and merchandise.
I will be pleased to cooperate with you and I
know that all departments involved will be glad to confer
with you so that this matter can be taken care of without
delay.

I respectfully request that
yo_u_effect an- ordinance to remedy a very dangerous condition
and one that mlgit, If not corrected, lead to very
serious" results._
I refer to extremely dangerous traffic conditions
because of parked~cars on the Broadway end of Marshall
S'treet~ At times there are cars parked on both aides of
t~t;e street and automobiles coming up Marshall Street are
often held up by a red light which then makes it impossible
for automobiles coming from either direction on Broadway to
turn down Marshall Street.
If the occasion calls for an open passage for fire
apparatus or an ambulance, the result bould be catastrophic.
Therefore, I suggest an amendment to the 'No
Parking f ordinance prohibiting parking at any time on
either side"of Marshall Street from the intersection between
Oakland Avenue and Broadway on Marshall Street both slde_s.
I urge passage of such .an ordinance at the earliest
possible date.
