i i i i The Honorable, The Board of Aldermen City Hall Somervl^le, Massachusetts Gent lemen: C ommun ic a tIon City of Somerville " 74'83'1 Office of the Mayor May 13, 1948 I respectfully request that you effect an ordinance to remedy a very dangerous'condition_and one that niight, If not corrected, lead to very serious results*' I refer to extremely dangerous traffic conditions because of parked cars on the Broadway end of Marshall Street. At times there are cars parked on both sides "of the street and automobiles coming up Marshall Street are often held up by a red light which then makes it impossible for automobiles coming from either direction on Broadway to turn down Marshall Street• If tho occasion calls .for an open passage for fire apparatus or an ambulance, the result could be catastrophic. Therefore._I suggest an amendment to the 'No ; Parking' ordinance prohibiting parking at any time on either side of Marshall Street Tor at least a distance of 150 feet from the intersection ^ajt Broadway* I urge passage of such an Ordinance at the earliest possible date.
