Reading of records commenced; further reading dispensed with under a suspension of the rules and records approved by yea and any vote, Aldermen Ryan, McCarthy, Reynolds and Hall, 4, voting in the affirmative; Aldermen Hurd, Stackpole, Butler, Capuano, Whitney, Vice-president Brady and the President, 7, being absent at this stage of the meeting. Special meeting of the Board of Aldermen, called by his honor the Mayor to receive and take action on communications from the Mayor and also for the drawing of a special venire of jurors, all the members having been duly notified in writing, City Hall, Somerville, May 3, 1948, 8 P.M. The President, Alderman Mallard, presiding. Alderman Ryan, McCarthy, Reynolds, Stackpole, Hall, Butler, Capuano and Whitney present* Reading of records commenced; further reading dispensed with under a suspension of the rules and records approved by yea and nay vote, Aldermen Ryan, Reynolds, Butler, Capuano, VJhitnay and the President, 6, voting in the affirmative; Aldermen Kurd, McCarthy, Stackpole, Hall and Vice-president Brady, 5, being absent at this stage of the meeting. JURORS Received a special venire for the drawing of five men to serve as traverse jurors at the Superior Court, now in session at Cambridge, the persons so drawn to appear and attend at the first session of said court on Monday, the tenth day of May, 1948, at 10 A. #• (Criminal business). The box containing the names being shaken and the slips or ballots bearing the names being mixed, Aldermen Ryan and Butler being designated for that purpose drew from the box and read aloud names as follows; 1. Starratt 196 Central St. Car Inspector The slips or ballots bearing the names were passed by the Aldermen to the President, who verified the names and passed them to the City Clerk, who also verified the names by reading them aloud from said slips or ballots, which ware then duly endorsed and returned to the jury box.
