tion came on final adoption as amended. Aid. Brady, Butler
and Hall invoked Section 15 and further action was de-
layed for one week.

Alderman Butler offered the following orders,

That traffic signal lights be in-
stailed at the corner of Lowell Street and Highland Avenue
in order to afford better protection for many school
children attending four schools in that immediate vicini-
ty as well as curtail the uncontrolied progress of motor
vehicles which are permitted to proceed along Highland
Avenue for considerable distance without being Impeded
due to the absence of traffic limits from Central Street
to Fire Station near Conwell St.

In view of the recent reported case_
of faulty drinking water in one of our Elementary schools
due in all probability to rust or corroslon-of obsolete
water pipes through long service, the Commissioner of_
Public Buildings is requested to- make a survey of all
school drinking water facilities with an inspection at^
regular intervals thereafter,, so that an early detection
of a similar situation could be made, thereby extending
to our school children the fullest protection and safety
in this regard.
