Dear Dr. Hurd and Gentlemen:
March 16, 1948.
Enclosed please find a copy of
Chapter 12 of the Building Code,_a which was passed by your
Honorable Board in 1946 and this particular chapter in 1947.
The various conditions set forth in this chapter
are, according to your approval, the rules under which the
Mayor, the Board of Aldermen, the City Clerk, Engineering
Department and the Building Department should issue the
various licenses for the erection, repair and maintenance
of these signs.
In order to follow out the rules contained therein
it is the_v/riters opinion that'it will.be necessary for you
to officially notify the various departments who, conduct

The code will be published in about two weeks and a
copy-.o.f it may be given to each department effected. Therefore
> will you please take action at your earliest convenience
upon this.
