The President, Alderman Mallard, presiding.
Aldermen Ryan, McCarthy, Reynolds, Stackpole, Hall,
Butler, Capuano, Whitney and Vice-president Brady present,
Reading of records commenced; further reading dispensed
with under a suspension of the rules and records
approved by yea and nay vote, Aldermen Ryan, Reynolds,
Stackpole, Hall, Butler, Capuano, Whitney, Vice-president
Brady and the President, 9, voting in the affirmative;
Alderman McCarthy, 1, being absent at this stage of the
meeting.
HEARING
Due notice of the hearing having been given by the
City Clerk in the manner provided by law and provided by
ordinance, hearing was given for all persons desiring to be
heard on the following:
Boston Edison Co. and New England Telephone and Tele- 74986

V/est" Quincy St. - 4 poles.
In the matter of the petition of the Boston
Edison Co. and New England Telephone and Telegraph Co. for
joint pole location, West Quincy St., 4 poles, Mr. Ralph
Young, representing the Boston Edison Co., appeared in
favor.
No other persons interested, appearing and desiring
to be heard, the hearings were closed.

I respectfully request the approval of your.
Honorable Board to the transfer of §383.34 from Excess and
Deficiency to City Engineer, Personal Service Account to
cover the salary of Peter W. Garibotto, at the rate of
$40.00 per week, effective April 16, 1948.
employee has been employed as a veteran
trainee in the Engineering Department for over a year and
has qualified for appointment as a permanent Grade II engineer,
it will therefore, be necessary to secure this
transfer in order to keep this veteran employed. Mr0 Gari
bo£to is efficient, qualified and does good work and is
necessary to parry on in the Engineering Department.
