The passing of our faithful and
efficient public servant, fellow citizen and friend leaves a
void in the community, and especially in the Fire Department
where he was respected by all his associates, therefore be

The members of this Board of Aldermen
In session assembled, hereby express their deep sympathy
to his family and relatives in this hour of extreme be-
reavement, their appreciation of the unselfish and devoted
service rendered by him to our city, his exemplary charac-
ter, efficiency and true friendship, and be it further
RESOLVED:
That these resolutions be spread upon
the records of the Board of Aldermen and a copy of same
sent to the family.

That His Honor the Mayor is hereby re-
quested to consider the advisability of providing sufficient
funds for the purchase of a "Gasoline-Saw" by the Commis-
sioner of Streets^ This saw to be used to cut up decaying
tree stumps stored in the City Yards. The residents in the
immediate area have complained that the neighborhood is
infested with rats and they contend that this unhealthy con-
dition is due to the decayed tree stumps in the city yards.
