<strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> the President more than twice, and no person<br />

who has held the <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> President, or acted as'President,<br />

for more than two years <strong>of</strong> a term to which some'other<br />

person was elected President shall be elected to the <strong>of</strong>fice<br />

<strong>of</strong> the President more than once. But this Article shall"<br />

not apply to any person holding the <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> President<br />

when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall<br />

not prevent any person who may be holding the <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong><br />

President, or acting as President, during the term within<br />

whi_ch this Article becomes operative from holding the <strong>of</strong>fice_<strong>of</strong>_president<br />

or acting President during the remainder<br />

<strong>of</strong> such term.<br />

" "SECTION a. This article shall be inoperative unless<br />

it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the<br />

Constitution by the legislatures <strong>of</strong> three-fourths <strong>of</strong> the<br />

several States within seven years from the date <strong>of</strong> its<br />

mission to the States by the Congress,* — be ratified<br />

To obtain a full expression <strong>of</strong> opinion, voters<br />

should vote oh all three <strong>of</strong> the following questions:-<br />

bedrunkon and <strong>of</strong>f the premises where sold, he will vote<br />

"YES" on all three questions<br />

( b _LJLf he desires to permit the sale herein <strong>of</strong><br />

wines and malt beverages only to be drunk on and <strong>of</strong>f the<br />

premises where sold, he will vote "NO" on question one,<br />

ir YE£F on question two and "NO" on question three.<br />

(c)_If_he desires to permit the sale'hereln <strong>of</strong><br />

all_alcohoilc beverages but only in packages, so called,<br />

not_to be drunk on the premises where sold, he will vote<br />

"NO" on questions one and two and "YES" on question<br />

three.<br />

(.d) If ne desires to permit the sale herein <strong>of</strong><br />

wines and malt beverages to be drunk on and <strong>of</strong>f the premises<br />

where sold and in addition other alcoholic beverages<br />

but only in packages, so called, not to be drunk.on the<br />

pjremises where sold, he will vote "NO 11 on question one<br />

and "YES" on questions two and three.<br />

any and_al_l alcoholic beverages whether to be drunk on "or<br />

In one or more newspapers published in this city, the expense<br />

so incurred to be charged to the Board <strong>of</strong> Election<br />

Commissioners account.<br />

Read and Aid. Brady <strong>of</strong>fered the following amend-<br />

ment "That the hour for opening the polls shall be six<br />

o'clock in the morning and the hour for closing the polls<br />

shall be ten o'clock in the evening. Said amendment shall<br />

be in effect If not in conflict with the General Law on<br />

elections." Amendment adopted. Order was read twioe and
