Whereas they recite dual obligations "to secure
an adequate, coordinated, integrated and efficient system
of rapid transit" and "to manage and operate the public's
transit system efficiently, economically and to the satisfaction
of the riding public in the Metropolitan area"; and
Whereas the people of Somerville are not properly
served to their benefit and there is little if any efficiency
in the so-called transfer point at Lechmere Station
and the M.T.A. is not in operation within the Somerville
Area for the "satisfaction of the riding public" and
Whereas, all of the proposed future projects
"aubject to Legislative Authority" exclude the City of
Somerville and propose to continue Lechmere facilities for
the- use of Somerville riding public with its attendant
delays and inconvenience;
BE IT RESOLVED THAT The Somerville Board of Alder_men
onjbehalf of our riding pubTic, with the potential of

to these people who have borne the burden of inconvenience,
delay and elements for years in the use: of the M.T.A._and
