Gentlemen:<br />

• June 7, 1948<br />

The <strong>Somerville</strong> school teachers and other personnel<br />

<strong>of</strong> the ^School Department, some time ago instituted suit_<br />

against the C'ity <strong>of</strong> <strong>Somerville</strong> to "recover back pay^for the<br />

particular individuals involved at the rate <strong>of</strong> seventy-five<br />

(&75.00) 'for each individual, covering the months <strong>of</strong> October,<br />

November and December, 1946.<br />

To avoid a multiplicity <strong>of</strong> suits and expense, each<br />

individual involved made an assignment, in writing, to<br />

Frances Blute, a teacher in the Pope School.<br />

Frances BJute thereupon brought a suit against.the<br />
