The sum of Fifteen thousand (15,000)
dollars is hereby transferred from Excess and Deficiency
account to Engineering Department, Parka and Playgrounds,
Special Item account, for labor and materials to be used in
preparing certain premises, now a part of the land attached
to the City Infirmary, for a cemetery to be dedicated and
used for the burial of those who died in the service of the
United States of America in World War II, whose bodies are
now being brought back from foreign shores to be buried in
said cemetery; it being necessary to commence work as soon
as possible because of the arrival of the bodies of our
deceased heroes any day in the near future.
Read and final action postponed until the next
meeting on objection of Alderman Whitney under section 15 of
the city charter.
