Buses leaving the Buses at the stop outward bound at
Melvin Street will.be enabled to cross Broadway to the
opposite side, the Commissioner of Streets is requested
to arrange for the construction of a crosswalk of Hot
top_jor suitable material directly across and through the
island reservation _so that such persons will be able to do
so in a designated area approximately four to six feet In
width, and without being required to cross In dirt or muddy
conditions so prevalent following periods of rain and in-
clement weather.

Alderman Whitney offered the following order,
Ordered: "
That the City Solicitor and the Sani-
tary Commissioner be and are hereby notified to imme-
diately withdraw the specifications that have been drawn
up applying to bids to be opened on Thursday July 15th
for the collection of garbage in our City, and that the
new specifications shall include any proposal that any
Contractor sees fit to submit for the best interest ,of

the City of Somervllle both from a standpoint of method
of collection and compensation.
