That the_ Electric Lines and Lights
Committee of the Board-of Aldermen and the Commissioner*
of Electric Lines and Lights make a survey of street
lighting In Ward seven, relative to Increasing the voltage,
so that the streets may be made safe for the women and
children of Ward Seven who traverse these streets after
dark. Such increased lighting would tend to lessen the
possibility of traffic accidents also.

That his honor the Mayor_is hereby
requested to include in his 19^9 Budget Estimates, a sum
sufficient to install 'Flashing Lights' on Holland Street
in the'vicinity of the Hodgkins School. Holland street
is used as a speedway and constitutes an extreme and
ever-present hazard to the life and limbs of the chil-
dren attending the'Hodgkins School and the Western
Junior High school.
