With reference to the petition of Crane Service
and Equipment Co. seeking permission to move through'Va-
_rious_Somerville streets a metalbuilding, this Is tp_
etatejfchat In my opinion same can be accomplished without
Injury to public or private proj>ertv/_ However, necessary
arrangement's* with utility companies 'and the Metropolitan
Transit Authority should be made by the mover prior to
actual operations*
It is apparent that the main difficulty will be
maintaining sufficient clearance between extreme height of
building when mounted on truck, which will be approximately
18 feet, and M. T* A. trolley wires whltih are approximately
13i feet above ground level, and which, of
course, are subject to sag due to expansion and contraction.
However this obstacle can be overcome'by having
an M.T.A. line truck escort.
Consideration should also be given to parked
cars, and moving traffic on streets through which building
will be transported.
