by her wheelchair-bound brother.
Awakening in an unfamiliar hospital bedroom,
Evans found himself paralyzed, and was told that
his spinal cord had been severed. In reality, Myrick
pretended to cripple him before asking what Evans
thought of his “unethical” experiments to find cure for
paraplegics and tantalized him with the prospect of
a mystery therapy. Later nurse Jodie, one of a number
of people who did work for Triphase because they had
a paraplegic relative, or were paraplegic themselves,
slipped into his room and told him that his spine was
not really broken – he was being held a prisoner at
Triphase by Myrick, and fed with powerful debilitating
drugs. Myrick was using unwilling human guineapigs
to test a radical nerve re-growth process to benefit
paraplegics. Soon afterwards, Evans recuperated
and attempted to escape from the facility but ran
across Alda whom he fought off in an elevator shaft
battle before confronting Myrick, who offered him
the chance to work for Triphase. A heated argument
about medical ethics climaxed in an accidental and
fatal shooting of Myrick. Some time later, Myrick’s
wife handed Evans the documentation of her husband’s
work, which she hoped he would continue
in a less morally doubtful way.

zadanie nadaje się jako praca domowa. Jeżeli
nauczyciel zechciałby zwiększyć komponentę
stricte gramatyczną, to może na przykład usunąć
wszystkie czasy podając czasowniki w formie bezokolicznika.
Zadania te w zależności od tempa ich
wykonania zajmują od dwóch do czterech godzin
lekcyjnych (przy zaangażowaniu większej liczby
uczniów czas ten może się wydłużyć).
