Basic <strong>Command</strong>scopytohotspare (not supported on AX4-5 series)Copies data from a failing disk onto an existing hot spareDescriptionSyntaxPrerequisitesOptionsOutputExampleThis naviseccli command initiates the copying of data from a failingdisk to an existing hot spare while the original disk remainsfunctioning.Once the copy is made, the candidate will be faulted and the hotspare activated. When the faulted disk is replaced, the replacementwill be copied back from the hot spare.copytohotspare is used with naviseccli (described on page 37) asfollows:copytohotspare disk-position –initiate [-0]For naviseccli, you must have a user account on the storage systemon which you want to execute the command.disk-positionThis specifies the physical disk. See “LUN IDs, unique IDs, anddisk IDs” on page 43 to verify the format for specifying disks.-initiateRequires the disk number of the proactive candidate, which youmust specify.Optional switch:-oExecutes the command without prompting for confirmation.The disk 0_0_13 is selected for hot sparing. Its serialnumber is KFDJ89.The proactive sparing process cannot beaborted and may take a long time to complete.
