iSCSI (Internet SCSI) <strong>Command</strong>sconnection -adduserAdds a CHAP authentication userDescriptionThe naviseccli connection command with the -adduser functionadds either an initiator CHAP authentication user or a target (storagesystem) CHAP authentication user to the storage-system CHAP userdatabase.Note: If you try to create a CHAP user for an initiator and the user is alreadydefined, an error message is returned that the user is already defined for theinitiator.If you try to add a user for a target and the user is already defined, an error isreturned that only one user can be defined for target access.Syntax connection -adduser is used with naviseccli (described on page 37)as follows:connection -adduser -definedFor initiator | target -initiatorNameinitiatorName [-userName userName] -secret secret [-hexsecret] [-o]PrerequisitesOptionsYou must have a user account on the storage system on which youwant to execute the command.-definedFor initiator | targetinitiator adds an initiator CHAP user account to the storagesystem user database. If you specify initiator, you must specify aninitiator using the -initiatorName parameter.target specifies that a target (storage system) CHAP user accountwill be created. If you specify target, do not use the-initiatorName parameter.-initiatorName initiatorNameIf initiator user account data is being added, initiatorName is aunique identifier for the initiator and uses the iSCSI QualifiedName (IQN) of the iSCSI initiator. This parameter is required ifyou are defining an initiator user.-userName usernameIf initiator user account data is being added, username specifies theCHAP username that the initiator uses when connecting to aniSCSI target.
