Basic <strong>Command</strong>sgetagentDescriptionGets device names and configurationsThe naviseccli or navicli getagent command returns the names ofdevices that the destination <strong>Navisphere</strong> agent controls. Thecommand also displays descriptions of each device with which the<strong>Navisphere</strong> agent is configured to communicate. If you type thegetagent command without switches, the <strong>CLI</strong> displays all values.With switches, the <strong>CLI</strong> displays only the values.Each SP is a host (-h switch) to which you address the command. Thecommand displays information for the agent running in the SP (theSP agent). Values for irrelevant display fields appear as NA.Note: If you are running <strong>VMware</strong> ESX Server and issuing this command to avirtual machine (VM), it cannot target the host agent because the <strong>Navisphere</strong>Host Agent is supported only on ESX Server.SyntaxPrerequisitesOptionsgetagent is used with naviseccli (described on page 37) or navicli(described on page 45) as follows:getagent [-cabinet] [-desc] [-mem] [-model] [ -name] [ -node] [-os][-peersig] [-prom ] [-rev] [-scsiid] [-serial] [-sig] [-spid] [-type] [-ver]For naviseccli, you must have a user account on the storage systemon which you want to execute the command.For navicli, you must be able to log in to the host running<strong>Navisphere</strong> <strong>CLI</strong>.-cabinetReturns a description of the cabinet type.-descReturns an ASCII description of the device (taken from the<strong>Navisphere</strong> agent configuration file).-memReturns, in MB, the size of the SP’s memory. Each SP in thestorage system must have the same amount of memory to makefull use of the memory.
