Basic CommandsWhen the installation is complete, restore the cache sizes to theiroriginal sizes if possible. You may not be able to use the original sizesbecause the new software requires more memory than the versionthat it replaced. The software prompts for information as needed; then it installs orupgrades the specified software packages and restarts the SPs. TheSPs then load and run the new packages. After successful installation,it deletes the files from the storage system. You can install more than one package with one ndu command.Note: When you install an upgrade (that is, a newer version of an installedpackage), you must install all the software packages you want to use in thesame command. For example, if you are upgrading SnapView in system thathas SnapView, Access Logix, and FLARE software installed, then you mustupgrade all three using one ndu -install command. When you install a newpackage of the same revision as other existing packages, you may install onlythat package and not the others. The CLI takes the following actions in order:◆◆If it can find the packages, it transfers them without interaction.Unless you used -force (which prevents the prompt and isequivalent to the "all" response), the software examines eachpackage and displays the following information for confirmation:Item number:nName of the software package:driver-nameRevision of the software package:n.nnAlready Installed Revision:NO or YESInstallableYES or NOEnter Item number of the packages to be installedseparated by blanks. Enter 'all' for all packages and'quit' to quit without installing:Specify the package(s) you want installed. If you make an invalidchoice, the CLI does not install any package.Note: Do not change the configuration; for example, binding new LUNs orexpanding metaLUNs while a software install is in progress. Such operationswill be rejected; delay them until after the software upgrade is complete andcommitted.225
