About <strong>CLI</strong> <strong>Command</strong>sNote: When the -nopoll switch is set, get commands may return staledata and set commands may erase previously changed settings. Usecaution when the -nopoll switch is set.-parse |-pDirects the <strong>CLI</strong> to validate the command. The <strong>CLI</strong> verifies thecommand syntax and displays a message stating whether thecommand was valid. The <strong>CLI</strong> takes no other action.-password passwordSpecifies the password on the storage system you want to log into. The password is visible in the command line. Passwords arecase sensitive.If you want to mask the password, and you are not using asecurity file, you can omit this switch from the command line.The <strong>CLI</strong> then prompts you to enter a password. The informationyou enter into the password prompt is concealed.Note: You can omit this switch if you are using a security file. See-AddUserSecurity.-port portnumberSets the port number (type) of the storage system. The default is443. If you choose to change the default port number,management port 2163 will be supported; however, you mustspecify the -port switch and number 2163 in every subsequentcommand you issue.-qSuppresses error messages. This switch is useful when includedas part of a script.Note: This switch is supported only for commands that originated inClassic <strong>CLI</strong>.-RemoveUserSecurityDirects the <strong>CLI</strong> to remove user security information about thecurrent user from the security file on this host.39
