Access Logix (Storage Group) CommandsregisterEnables HBA(s) to be associated with a specified hostnameDescriptionThe register command, when issued without parameters, instructsthe specified host to associate its hostname with its HBA(s), and tobroadcast that information to every storage group storage systemattached to the server.To remove an HBA registration from a storage system (unregister theHBA), use the port command with the -removeHBA switch.For any storage-system type, you must specify the hostname of aserver computer system, not the hostname of an SP.Note: If you are running VMware ESX Server and issuing this command to avirtual machine (VM), it cannot target the host agent because the NavisphereHost Agent is supported only on ESX Server.SyntaxPrerequisitesOptionsExampleregister is used with navicli (described on page 45) as follows:register [-list]You must have a user entry in the Navisphere agent configurationfile.To use the navicli register command, you must be a privileged userin the host agent configuration file.-listDisplays information about the registered HBAs.navicli -h server1 register305
