Basic <strong>Command</strong>smanagedbyDescriptionDisplays the application that manages the storage system.The naviseccli or navicli managedby command displays whether<strong>Navisphere</strong> Manager or the <strong>Navisphere</strong> Express application managesthe AX4-5 series and AX series storage system you specify.You use the managedby command for purposes of the CLARiiONVSS Provider. The VSS Provider is used in conjunction with theSnapView functionality, to provide backup capabilities. See the EMCCLARiiON Server Support Products for Windows Installation Guide forinformation on the VSS Provider.If <strong>Navisphere</strong> Express manages the storage system, the VSS Providerlimits some actions. You can use the managedby command todetermine whether the storage system you specify is managed by<strong>Navisphere</strong> Manager or <strong>Navisphere</strong> Express.Note: The command returns an output value of Navi Manager (<strong>Navisphere</strong>Manager), Navi Express (<strong>Navisphere</strong> Express), or None. A value of None issynonymous to <strong>Navisphere</strong> Manager.SyntaxPrerequisitesOutputExamplemanagedby is used with naviseccli (described on page 37) or navicli(described on page 45) as follows:managedbyFor naviseccli, you must have a user account on the storage systemon which you want to execute the command.For navicli, anyone that can log in to the host running the <strong>Navisphere</strong><strong>CLI</strong>.Managed By: Navi Managernaviseccli -h ss1_spa managedbyThis command displays the application that manages the AX seriesstorage system specified.
