LUN Expansion (MetaLUN) CommandsNote: The following command syntax works only with Navisphere Express. To create a new metaLUN and expand an existing metaLUN for astorage system running Navisphere Express, you must use thiscommand.metalun -expand -base number|WWN[-sq tb|gb|mb -cap number] | [-percent number] [-o]PrerequisitesOptionsYou must have a user account on the storage system on which youwant to execute the command. The command switches for Navisphere Manager (See page 332) andNavisphere Express (See page 337) are given below:The following command switches are supported with NavisphereManager:-base number|WWNSpecifies the unique number or World Wide Name of the LUN ormetaLUN you want to expand. Use only one of the identifierswith the -base switch. Use the metalun -list command todetermine the number or WWN of the LUN or metaLUN (see“metalun -list” on page 341).When you specify a LUN with the -base command, the CLIcreates a new metaLUN with the number and WWN of the baseLUN. Once the CLI creates the new metaLUN, it assigns a newWWN to the original base LUN and makes it a private LUN.When expanding a single LUN, you can use any or all of the-expand switches.Note: The base LUN can belong to a storage group. Expansion LUNscannot belong to a storage group. When you specify an existing metaLUN with the -basecommand, the CLI expands the capacity of the existing metaLUN.The following switches are not valid during the expansion of anexisting metaLUN: -name, -preservedata, -expansionrate,-defaultowner, -autoassign, -elsz, and -bindoffset. The expandedmetaLUN retains the values of the original metaLUN. After themetaLUN is expanded, use the metalun -modify command tochange the metaLUN using -name, -expansionrate,-defaultowner, or -autoassign. The -preservedata, -elsz and-bindoffset values cannot be changed.332 EMC Navisphere Command Line Interface (CLI) Reference
