Basic CommandsA lower value causes the SPs to start flushing the cache sooner. The high watermark cannot be less than the low watermark. Toturn watermark processing off, set both the low and highwatermark values to 100.-hacv n (not supported on a single-SP AX4-5 series system runningNavisphere Manager and on CX4 series systems)Enables or disables the HA cache vault. n is as follows:1 = Enables HA cache vault (the default)0 = Disables HA cache vaultIf you set -hacv to a value other than 0 or 1, an error messageappears. If you enable the HA cache vault, a single drive failurewill cause the write cache to become disabled, thus reducing therisk of losing data in the event of a second drive failing. If youdisable the HA cache vault, a single drive failure does not disablethe write cache, leaving data at risk if a second drive fails. Whenyou disable the HA cache vault, you will receive a warningmessage stating that this operation will allow write caching tocontinue even if one of the cache vault drives fails. If there isalready a failure on one of the cache vault drives, this operationwill not re-enable the write cache.-l low-watermark (not supported on a single-SP AX4-5 series systemrunning Navisphere Manager)Sets the write cache low watermark. low-watermark specifies thepercentage of cache dirty pages that determines when cacheflushing stops. When the low watermark is reached during aflush operation, both SPs stop flushing the cache. The default is60 percent for CX3 series and CX series. The low watermarkcannot be greater than the high watermark. To turn watermarkprocessing off, set both the low and high watermark values to100.-p page-sizeSets, in KB, the page size for the caches. Valid sizes are 2, 4, 8, and16. The default is 2. Page size is set to 2 regardless ofenable/disable. As a general guideline, the cache page sizeshould be 8 KB for general UNIX file server applications, and 2KB or 4 KB for database applications. It does not work if the reador write cache is enabled.261
