LUN Expansion (MetaLUN) CommandsNote: You must always specify 1 when the base LUN is in a storagegroup. CLI returns an error message if you specify 0 in this case.• Specify 0 to enable stripe expansion and overwrite the existingdata on the base LUN. Note that you will lose the original dataon the LUN.-sq tb|gb|mb|bcSpecifies the size qualifier for the capacity of the metaLUNcomponent.where:tb equals terabytes, gb equals gigabytes, mb equals megabytesand bc equals block count. The default qualifier is block count.Note: AX4-5 series storage systems running Navisphere Managersupport only terabytes (TB), gigabyte (GB), and megabyte (MB) sizequalifiers.AX series systems support only megabyte (MB) and gigabyte (GB) sizequalifiers.-type C|SSets the expansion type for the metaLUN to concatenate or stripe. The default expansion type is stripe.C sets the expansion type to concatenate. A concatenateexpansion appends the new LUNs to the end of the base LUNcomponent or metaLUN as a single, separate striped component. There is no striping between the original storage and the newLUNs.S sets the expansion type to stripe. For a list of requirements forstripe expansion, see “Requirements and recommendations” onpage 330.If you are expanding a LUN (the base LUN), the -type S switchcreates a metaLUN with one component which includes the baseLUN and any LUNs that you add. Any data on the base LUN isrestriped across the base LUN and the new LUNs.Note: If the base LUN has existing data, and it is outside of a storagegroup, refer to the -preservedata switch (page 335) for additionaloptions.336 EMC Navisphere Command Line Interface (CLI) Reference
