2 2/3 oz pears,dried<br />

3 1/2 oz apricots<br />

3 1/2 oz plums,dried, pitted<br />

2 2/3 oz oranges,dried, cubed<br />

3 1/2 oz dates,dried<br />

6 oz walnutmeat<br />

1 1/16 oz yeast<br />

3 1/2 oz sugar<br />

2 T butter<br />

2 3/16 lb flour<br />

1 t salt<br />

3 1/2 oz raisins<br />

1/2 t orangepeel,grated<br />

1 t cinnamon<br />

2 T cherry liquor(kirschwasser)<br />

1/2 t cloves,Ground<br />

1/2 t ingwer powder<br />

1 t kardamom powder<br />

1/2 c water,Warm<br />

1 powdered sugar<br />

Cube the pears, apricots, oranges and figs. Chop the walnuts. Break<br />

up the yeast and mix with one teaspoon sugar and the lukewarm<br />

water<br />

and cover it and let stand on a warm place for 10 minutes. Melt the<br />

butter and mix with salt and flour; add the yeastmix and knead,<br />

cover and let it rise on a warm place until doubled in size. Mix raisins,<br />

sugar, grated lemonpeel, cinnamon, cloves, ingwer, cardamom and<br />

the<br />

dried fruits and the nuts; knead them into dough. Form a loaf and put<br />

onto a waxpaper covered cookiesheet.<br />

Preheat oven to 200 C and bake for 75 minutes. When cool sprinkle<br />

with a little powdered sugar.
