simultaneously displayed. A component name and comment may be<br />

entered in the appropriate columns. Repeat this procedure with<br />

subsequent rows in the table until all spectrum files are entered into<br />

the library.<br />

3. Select File /Library /Save As and enter a name for the library. The<br />

.lib extension is automatically appended.<br />

A new easy way to add spectra to an opened library is to select the<br />

option Add Spectrum to Spectrum Library… from the Actions… menu.<br />

Move the cursor in the chromatogram view to the appropriate position.<br />

The corresponding time is displayed in the dialog box. Simply click on<br />

Add to save the spectrum in the library.<br />

Library Search<br />

How to Perform a <strong>Manual</strong> Library Search<br />

1. In the Contour map of the Mixed View window, drag the vertical<br />

cursor to the apex of the peak of interest to display the<br />

corresponding spectrum in the spectrum pane.<br />

2. Click on the Actions/Search library… Click either Method to use the<br />

library parameters from the method, or Quick to enable you to<br />

modify the search parameters. Before you do the search, make sure<br />

you have either selected a library in your method, or have opened a<br />

library to do a quick search.<br />

Click Search Now to display the Library Search Results window,<br />

showing the three closest matches in the specified library. When<br />

appropriate, click on the >> or
