Dur<strong>in</strong>g the period displayed, a total of 2595 cases were registered with the Public Prosecuti<strong>on</strong> Service.<br />

The annual number of registered cases varies between 383 <strong>in</strong> 2007 and 501 <strong>in</strong> 2005. A marked <strong>in</strong>crease<br />

can be seen <strong>in</strong> the years 2009 and 2010 <strong>in</strong> relati<strong>on</strong> to the three preced<strong>in</strong>g years. 435 Accord<strong>in</strong>g to the Public<br />

Prosecuti<strong>on</strong> Service, this recent <strong>in</strong>crease is the result of a more <strong>in</strong>tensive approach to tackl<strong>in</strong>g child<br />

pornography that the Public Prosecuti<strong>on</strong> Service has been tak<strong>in</strong>g s<strong>in</strong>ce 2009. 436<br />

Figure 3.8 displays the district court public prosecutor’s offices at which the cases were registered over<br />

the total period from 2005 up to and <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g 2010. 437<br />
