Tables B4.20 to B4.24 provide a complete and detailed overview of the available data from the Research
and Policy Database for Judicial Documentation about the cases involving child pornography settled on
appeal between 2005 and 2009. Please refer to Appendix 2 for the justification of the research methods
employed and Appendix 3 for the tables displayed in this Appendix and the statistics that are applicable
to this.
39 The totals do not correspond exactly with the numbers of non-suspended or partially suspended
custodial sentences imposed in accordance with Table B4.15 (a total of 1,054 in relation to 1,059).
This difference can be explained by the fact that in some instances, the exact sentence imposed
was not recorded, even though it is known that a community service order of known duration was
imposed.
