CHOCOLATIERS<br />

The windows of Candifrutto lure you into this beautiful shop, which still conserves<br />

the wooden furniture from the previous stationery business. The counter is a show of<br />

tartlets and pralines in lovely pans of plain chocolate. The small cups filled to the brim with<br />

tiny coffee-flavored plain and milk chocolate balls are a nice gift idea. Behind the counter<br />

are a whole host of other goodies: minuscule fruit-flavored wafers, tartlets garnished<br />

with dehydrated fruit (raspberry, strawberry, banana), candied fruit (Sorrento lemon, figs,<br />

clementines, oranges, small chestnuts), dried fruit (Noto almonds, San Rossore pine kernels,<br />

walnuts) and spices. Among the latest creations is the “fizzy” tartlet, which bubbles as it<br />

melts in the mouth. Then of course come chocolate oysters, shells, fish and traditional plain<br />

and milk chocolate Easter eggs (surprises can be personalized) and bars of chocolate crus:<br />

palmira Venezuela, trinitario Cuba, forastero Sao Tomè, organic and fairtrade.<br />

Closed Sunday and Monday morning.<br />
