The windows of Candifrutto lure you into this beautiful shop, which still conserves
the wooden furniture from the previous stationery business. The counter is a show of
tartlets and pralines in lovely pans of plain chocolate. The small cups filled to the brim with
tiny coffee-flavored plain and milk chocolate balls are a nice gift idea. Behind the counter
are a whole host of other goodies: minuscule fruit-flavored wafers, tartlets garnished
with dehydrated fruit (raspberry, strawberry, banana), candied fruit (Sorrento lemon, figs,
clementines, oranges, small chestnuts), dried fruit (Noto almonds, San Rossore pine kernels,
walnuts) and spices. Among the latest creations is the “fizzy” tartlet, which bubbles as it
melts in the mouth. Then of course come chocolate oysters, shells, fish and traditional plain
and milk chocolate Easter eggs (surprises can be personalized) and bars of chocolate crus:
palmira Venezuela, trinitario Cuba, forastero Sao Tomè, organic and fairtrade.
