GREENGROCERS I n the heart of Rivoli, on the way up Via Piol towards the castle, La Frutteria has long been a favorite haunt for lovers of quality fruit and vegetables and more. Pietro Gaido has run the shop for more than 30 years, during which time he has branched out from fruit and vegetables — mostly local and many organic — to sell other goods, such as macrobiotic products and foods for coeliacs, as well as artisan pastas, jams (the Sorrento lemon marmalade is especially good) and extra virgin olive oils from the best production areas. Other treats include Modica chocolate, pistachio bars and almond paste. Pietro has a passion for mushrooms, so, in season, you’ll find morel, black poplar, porcini and royal agaric mushrooms in the La Frutteria window (for the rest of the year the shop sells dried mushrooms). White Alba and local black truffles are available in autumn. Open mornings from Monday to Friday, Saturday all day. 315

Osvaldo e Grazia Rossin con la preziosa collaborazione di Adriana fin dal 1992 privilegiano i prodotti del territorio piemontese e quelli dei Presìdi Slow Food. In primavera ed estate potete trovare le insalate più tenere e le verdure più croccanti per gustosi pinzimoni da abbinare a pregiati oli umbri e liguri e gustosi aceti di vino proposti in vendita, mentre in autunno è il trionfo delle verdure necessarie per la bagna caoda: cardo gobbo di Nizza Monferrato, aglio di Caraglio, porri di Cervere e i rari “peperoni alla rapa” (macerati nei graspi e nel mosto d’uva), golosità da veri intenditori. I funghi e i tartufi arrivano dalle Langhe, le fragoline da San Mauro Torinese, le pesche dal Roero, le mele grigie sono quelle di Torriana e solo a luglio ecco anche i deliziosi ramassin di Saluzzo. Ampia scelta di legumi e verdure già selezionate e porzionate per chi ha fretta. Chiuso mercoledì.
