CHOCOLATIERS
T
he Peyrano family has taken over this historic Turinese chocolate emporium
again. Peyrano is the symbol of chocolate in Turin. In the tiny workshop
adjacent to the shop on Corso Moncalieri, they toast the finest cocoa beans, make
the paste using artisan methods and create magnificent gianduiotti, exquisite
chocolate-coated hazelnuts, chestnut-shaped chocolates filled with soft chestnut
and rum cream and the famous Alpini, liqueur chocolates made from a secret recipe
that are perfect at the end of a meal. By request the pralines can be packaged in
precious boxes designed by famous Italian designers. Not to be forgotten either
are the jellies, made with real fruit. The shop on Corso Vittorio also offers a rich
assortment of the house’s confectionery and has a small café where you can sit back
and enjoy a slice of Peyrano’s exclusive Savarin cake.
Corso Vittorio: closed Sunday afternoon and Monday.
Corso Moncalieri: closed Sunday.
