PASTA SHOPS
This tiny pasta shop is run by Marcello Piana and Ines Marengo, partners at work and
in private. Their creations are mainly inspired by the local area and the Piedmon-
tese tradition, and they only use seasonal ingredients. Witness their plin, or hand-pinched
pasta pockets, stuffed with the meat of the giora (a cow no longer suitable for breeding
purposes), with Carmagnola grrey rabbit and with asparagus and peppers. Excellent too
are the potato gnocchi, tajarin, tegole, classic agnolotti, stuffed in winter with rice and
cabbage. Occasionally you’ll also find one-off creations such as tortelloni stuffed with
sea bass. Besides pasta, the shop sells delicious homemade dishes sich as Potrete trovare
Russian salad and potato cakes, as well as pies, marinated meat and vegetables and roast
brisket. In the dessert department, the apple pie is a real standout,while the bonet, panna
cotta and fruit tats are excellent too.
Closed Sunday afternoon and Monday.
