PASTA SHOPS<br />

This tiny pasta shop is run by Marcello Piana and Ines Marengo, partners at work and<br />

in private. Their creations are mainly inspired by the local area and the Piedmon-<br />

tese tradition, and they only use seasonal ingredients. Witness their plin, or hand-pinched<br />

pasta pockets, stuffed with the meat of the giora (a cow no longer suitable for breeding<br />

purposes), with Carmagnola grrey rabbit and with asparagus and peppers. Excellent too<br />

are the potato gnocchi, tajarin, tegole, classic agnolotti, stuffed in winter with rice and<br />

cabbage. Occasionally you’ll also find one-off creations such as tortelloni stuffed with<br />

sea bass. Besides pasta, the shop sells delicious homemade dishes sich as Potrete trovare<br />

Russian salad and potato cakes, as well as pies, marinated meat and vegetables and roast<br />

brisket. In the dessert department, the apple pie is a real standout,while the bonet, panna<br />

cotta and fruit tats are excellent too.<br />

Closed Sunday afternoon and Monday.<br />
