CHOCOLATIERS
This historical brand, which dates from 1897, has been owned by the Faletti family
(Mauro and Luigina with their children Marco e Laura) since 1970. The production
plant and adjoining point of sale are situated in Leinì, but A. Giordano chocolate can also
be found in their old shop in Piazza Carlo Felice in Turin. The company has won many
accolades, the latest being the International Chocolate Award for its gianduiotti which,
along with giacomette (crushed walnuts coated with gianduia chocolate), are the feathers
in its cap. Its wide range of chocolates also includes cremini Torino (a layer of hazelnut
cream sandwiched between two layers of gianduia), rustici, boeri, liqueur chocolates,
leaves, arancini, truffles, and original “hazelnuts” and “almonds”. The company also
makes delicious spreading creams and coffee beans coated with plain chocolate. Also
worthy of note are the chocolate bars with different percentages of cacao, made with milk
chocolate or decorated with dried fruit.
Leinì plant: closed Sunday. Turin: closed Sunday and Monday morning.
