BEEKEEPERS
Perino family have kept bees in Azeglio for 14 years. Thanks to the position
and flora of this corner of the Canavese district of Piedmont, the honey is excel-
lent. The varieties produced are enhanced by honey produced from rhododendron and
mountain flowers in given periods of the year when the hives are moved to the Val d’Aosta
and Valchiusella. The shop sells mixed fruits (strawberries, walnuts, chestnuts and nuts) in
honey, fruit and nut creams (hazelnut, redcurrant, blackcurrant, mulberry) and a vast range
of honey-filled candies. Propolis, pollen and royal jelly are used to make energy products
and remedies against colds and influenza. Also on sale are select southern Italian honeys
made with pollen from orange bloom and eucalyptus flowers.
Products can be ordered by telephone or on-line. School visits are also welcomed.
